To further underline the government’s commitment to AI development, the Nigerian government previously invited scientists of Nigerian heritage and renowned experts who have worked within the Nigerian market to collaborate in formulating the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy. This move signals the government’s recognition of the value and potential of AI in driving economic growth and prosperity.
The application period for the Nigeria Artificial Intelligence Research Scheme started on October 13, 2023, and will conclude on November 15, 2023. The ministry has stated that a panel of AI specialists will assess the submitted proposals and select the successful recipients.
